USAT Capacity Solutions works with over 15,000 trucking partners that specialize in dry van, refrigerated, flatbed, heavy haul and other shipping modes. BY DEAN SMALLWOOD PAY Texarkana, Arkansas-based Southern Refrigerated Transport increased driver pay by 3 cents per mile and reduced employee health insurance costs for 2019. The company said the two moves will allow some drivers to earn an addi- tional $8,000 this year. Groveland, Florida-based Carroll Fulmer Logistics installed a com- pensation program based on weekly mileage that pays drivers up to 54 cents per mile. FACILITIES Maverick Transportation opened Maverick Driving Academy at the flatbed company's campus in North Little Rock, Arkansas. The school will add commercial driver's license education to Maverick's training pro- gram that already includes safety and securement curriculum. Dayton Freight Lines opened a newly built service center in Madison, Wisconsin, that features 43 doors, an 80-foot-wide dock, onsite fuel and a snow removal system. This is the Dayton, Ohio-based less-than- truckload company's fifth service center in Wisconsin. ACHIEVEMENTS Green Bay, Wisconsin-based Schneider was recognized by Monster, an employment website, as a Best Companies for Veterans for the third consecutive year. XPO Logistics honored 19 of its less-than-truckload drivers for sur- passing three million accident-free miles. The drivers have an average 30-year tenure with the company.
