May 2019 | Overdrive | 45 L ast year, 144 police officers from across the country died in the line of duty. It was a increase from 2017, when 129 officers were killed while working. Cully Frisard couldn't let that pass. The second-generation owner of Frisard's Trucking in Gramercy, Louisiana, wanted to do something to ensure fallen police officers were not forgotten. At the same time, he wanted to atone for his attitude toward law officers when he was younger, making it an intensely personal mission for him. Last July, Frisard decided to create a "Police Officer of the Week" program to honor those who serve communities in and BY DAVID HOLLIS CUSTOM RIGS Cascadia honors fallen police officers Frisard's Trucking's police tribute truck is a 2019 Freightliner Cascadia. The truck features white stripes with one blue stripe to signify the "thin blue line," referring to law enforcement's protective role by standing between order and crime. Graphics on the passenger side support the Montrell Jackson Foundation, which was created by the widow of fallen police officer Montrell Jackson of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
