Crete said they would provide her a rental car and hotel accommodations. Two days before Cel- adon's shutdown, Bo Wells' (pictured) driver manager told him "a lot of freight was being canceled" and "it seemed like they were trying to get people close to terminals." Wells concluded that the company notified its customers well before it notified its drivers and dispatch personnel, a fact that rankled him. Celadon driver Jack Rivera, blindsided by the fleet's sudden closure of nearly all operations just ahead of Christmas, believes that Celadon founder Steve Russell would be turning over in his grave at the turn of events. "I met him, and he always listened to his drivers. I was saddened when he passed away. I can only imagine what he would be thinking right now.
